![]() My Fan is set on medium and my temps never go above 50c.That was a great Idea-"thanks for the suggestion". With the addition of that antec spot cooler.Plugged cooler into the sb fan socket. Not a single issues with the temps. Just got back to the forum and was reading some replies to some of my post. I am sure I am talking about the righ thing-still a newbie here. But the heatsink right below the cpu.it is the only thing in my computer hot to the touch-so I assume this is what is giving me those temps. I would like to hear what your NB is or what you guys consider stock temps. This just don't seem right.I have owned computers in the past with NB-getting around 72c.but that was an old amd. I guess the FX990 NB chip tends to run warm. Update again-I did a quick google search.990FX NB temps.and mine is not that far off from what a lot of other people are getting. ![]() Update-In performance tab-if I put it on Balanced-meaning C/q will downclock the cpu when not in use-or like speedstep. It runs 48c-But if I tick high performance-running around 3.9ghz average-it hits 58c.does the board need time for the heatsinks thermal grease to break in? is that what they use underneath? I have ran this pc for about a total of 4-5 hours not counting the 2 hours for installing Windows? My 990FX chip with the MSI label is the hot 58c. ![]() So looking at the hardware monitor thing. Here is my issues-I figured the TMPIN0 is MOSFET temp, But I am not sure if it is.Right now at idle mine is around 57c.so I decided to feel around in my case.I touch the heatsink that say Millitary class.and it is warm to the touch.I figured this was where the mosfet is.But I also felt the heatsink That says MSI.and boy is that hot.matching the temp of 57c.I know that if I put my pc under stress this will probably climb. So the 57c is coming from there.I have a Great case-with plenty of cooling.so just wondering-are these suppose to get hot? and how hot is to hot? Do I have a defective board? I have built tons of computers-but this is the first time-I have ever payed any attention to this? Trying to figure out the tmps of hardware monitor-and this is what I got. So I ran threw a post same board and using Hardware Monitor.
